  The Mediumwave transmitter Mainflingen (Mainflingen B) is a mediumwave transmission facility south of the A3 motorway near Mainflingen, Hesse, Germany. Mainflingen was the first mediumwave transmitter for the radio station Deutschlandfunk.   The Weihe valley bridge is a bridge of the A 4 motorway near Richelsdorf, Germany. It is located in the stretch of the A 4 between Bad Hersfeld and Eisenach, between the exits Wildeck-Obersuhl and Gerstungen. It crosses the valley of the small river Weihe. The bridge should have been built at the beginning of the 1940s, but it wasn't finished then: only a few columns were built. Instead for the motorway a provisional route through the valley was constructed.

  The Valley bridge Wommen is an arch bridge built between 1938 and 1940. It is a 303.8 meter (997 ft) long motorway bridge on motorway A4 near Wommen. Because of World War II, it was only half-finished, and because of the German division this bridge was closed until 1990. It was supplemented until 1993 by a new bridge for the second lane.

  The Saalburg is a Roman fort located on the Taunus ridge northwest of Bad Homburg, Hesse, Germany. It is a Cohort Fort belonging to the Limes Germanicus, the Roman linear border fortification of the German provinces. The Saalburg, located just off the main road roughly halfway between Bad Homburg and Wehrheim is the most completely reconstructed Roman fort in Germany. Since 2005, as part of the Upper German limes, it forms part of a UNESCO World Heritage site.

  Kassel Calden Airport located 1.9 km (1.2 mi) west of Calden, lies 16.7 km (10.4 mi), as the crow flies, northwest of the German city of Kassel. Built on farmland, 908 ft (277 m) ASL lying NNE of the Hoher Dörnberg, the airport was opened on 11 July 1970. The airport has a single asphalt runway, 04/22 (040°/220°), which is 1,500 by 30 m (4,921 by 98 ft). There is a parallel grass strip north of the main runway, which is 700 by 30 m (2,297 by 98 ft).

  Starkenburg-Sternwarte (Starkenburg Observatory) is an astronomical observatory in Heppenheim, Germany. It was formed in 1970, and currently has about 150 members. The instruments at the observatory consists of: 0.45m newtonian 0.30m Meade LX 200 0.20m refractor 0.15m refractor 0.10m refractor 0.19m flat-field camera 0.14m schmidt camera The observatory was the venue for the 1997 and 2003 meetings of the European Radio Astronomy Congress.

As King of Westphalia, Jérôme Bonaparte renamed it Napoleonshöhe and appointed his Head Chamberlain Heinrich von Blumenthal as its governor, with instructions to supervise extensive renovations. After the Franco-Prussian War, the Prussian King offered the defeated Emperor Napoleon III accommodation there.
