  Alliaceae is a family of herbaceous perennial flowering plants. They are monocots, part of order Asparagales. The family has been widely but not universally recognised; in the past, the plants involved were often treated as belonging to the family Liliaceae, and still are by some botanists. The APG II system of 2003 recognises the family and places it in the order Asparagales in the clade monocots.

  Orchidaceae, the Orchid family, is the largest family of the flowering plants. Its name is derived from the genus Orchis. The Royal Botanical Gardens of Kew list 880 genera and nearly 22,000 accepted species, but the exact number is unknown (perhaps as many as 25,000) because of taxonomic disputes.   Themidaceae is the botanical name of a family of flowering plants. Such a family is recognised by only few taxonomists. The APG II system does not recognize this family as such, but allows it to be segregated from the family Asparagaceae, as an optional segregate.   Asphodelaceae is the botanical name of a family of flowering plants. Not all taxonomists recognize Asphodelaceae as a family and the of the family has varied over time. The APG III system of 2009 considers these plants to be part of the family Xanthorrhoeaceae, but a companion paper does provide a subfamily Asphodeloideae within that family.   Hemerocallidaceae is the botanical name of a family of flowering plants. The family name is derived from the name of the included genus Hemerocallis. The placement of the included genera, and the of the family, have varied. The Cronquist system does not recognize the family and includes Hemerocallis in Liliaceae. The APG II system includes the family in Xanthorrhoeaceae, in the order Asparagales in the monocots clade, but allows for its optional segregation as a monophyletic family.

  Hyacinthaceae is the botanical name of a family of flowering plants. The plants are herbaceous perennials that grow from bulbs, and include several popular spring-blooming garden plants, including Hyacinth (Hyacinthus), grape hyacinth (Muscari), bluebell (Hyacinthoides) and squill (Scilla). As circumscribed by Pfosser & Speta (1999) the family contains about 70 genera and 1000 species. The genera have been included in Liliaceae in many classification systems, such as the Cronquist system.
