      Van Zandt County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. In 2000, its population was 48,140. Its county seat is Canton. The county is named for Isaac Van Zandt, a member of the Congress of the Republic of Texas. Until May 2009, Van Zandt County was a completely dry county.       Toirdelbach Ua Briain (1009–14 July 1086), anglicised Turlough O'Brien, was King of Munster and effectively High King of Ireland. A grandson of Brian Bóruma, Toirdelbach was the son of Tadc mac Briain who was killed in 1023 by his half-brother Donnchad mac Briain. For the first forty years of his life nothing is known of Toirdelbach.
