Miyamoto Musashi (c. 1584–June 13, 1645), also known as Shinmen Takezō, Miyamoto Bennosuke, or by his Buddhist name Niten Dōraku, was a Japanese swordsman and samurai famed for his duels and distinctive style. Musashi, as he was often simply known, became renowned through stories of his excellent swordsmanship in numerous duels, even from a very young age.
Curtis Shayne Joseph (born Curtis Munro on April 29, 1967) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender. He last played for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League. Joseph is immediately recognizable on the ice for his masks featuring a snarling dog, drawing inspiration from the Stephen King novel Cujo, which also happened to be his nickname, derived from the first two letters of his first and last names.
Charles Howard, 1st Earl of Nottingham (1536 – 14 December 1624), known as Howard of Effingham, was an English statesman and admiral. He was son of William Howard, 1st Baron Howard of Effingham (c. 1510 – 1573) and Margaret Gamage, daughter of Sir Thomas Gamage. He was a grandson of Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk. In June 1563 he married Catherine Carey, the oldest daughter of Henry Carey, 1st Baron Hunsdon, later Lord Chamberlain.
