  Lambda (uppercase Λ, lowercase λ; (λάβδα) in classical times. In; the letter itself is pronounced [l] as with Latin L. In early Greek alphabets, the shape and orientation of lambda varied. Most variants consisted of two straight strokes, one longer than the other, connected at their ends. The angle might be in the upper left, lower left ("Western" alphabets), or top ("Eastern" alphabets). Other variants had a vertical line with a horizontal or sloped stroke running to the right.

•  Cathedral school

  The idea for widespread schools dates back to Charlemagne, a king of the Franks. He knew that the Frankish empire would be weak without an education. Because a Frankish King started it, it quickly spread throughout northern and central France. Over time, the schools were fused with the church and became cathedral schools. Cathedral schools arose in some major cities including Chartres, Orleans, Paris, Laon, Liege, Rheims, Rouen and Utrecht.

  Cerro Tanaro is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Asti in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 60 km southeast of Turin and about 14 km southeast of Asti. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 615 and an area of 4.7 km². Cerro Tanaro borders the following municipalities: Castello di Annone, Masio, Quattordio, and Rocchetta Tanaro.

•  Wiehen Hills

  The Wiehen Hills is a low mountain range in North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony in Germany. It stretches east-west, beginning at the Weser River near Minden and terminating in the vicinity of Osnabrück. It is the northern apophysis of the German low mountain ranges in the northern lowlands. The highest mountain is the Heidbrink near Lübbecke with an altitude of 320 metres (1,050 ft).
