Summary

Pendlebury is a suburb within the metropolitan borough of the City of Salford, in Greater Manchester, England. It lies 4.1 miles (6.6 km) to the northwest of Manchester city centre, 3.4 miles (5.5 km) northwest of Salford, and 5.9 miles (9.5 km) southeast of Bolton. Historically a part of Lancashire, Pendlebury together with the neighbouring settlements of Swinton and Clifton, formed the municipal borough of Swinton and Pendlebury. More information...

He was the creator and chief editor (1935-1940) of the 4-volume Ushakov's Explanatory Dictionary of the Russian Language with over 90,000 entries.
