  There are 23 national parks in Poland. These were formerly run by the Polish Board of National Parks (Krajowy Zarząd Parków Narodowych), but in 2004 responsibility for them was transferred to the Ministry of the Environment. Most national parks are divided into strictly and partially protected zones. Additionally, they are usually surrounded by a protective buffer zone called otulina.

At present, Scotland has two national parks: Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, created in 2002, and the Cairngorms National Park, created in 2003. The French national parks protect a total area of 3,710 km² in central zones and 9,162 km² in secondary zones in metropolitan France. The goal of the national park service is to create a system of protected areas that represent all the distinct natural regions of the country. •  Balawaristan

  Balawaristan is an historical name of Gilgit-Baltistan that has regained some prevalence in recent years. The archaic English spelling for the name was Boloristan, and its first known documented usage is in Chinese sources from the 8th century CE. The Northern Areas include Gilgit, Skardu, Hunza, Ishkoman and Yasin. The regions of Baltistan, and Ladakh are also considered to be a part of Balawaristan by the nationalist parties of Gilgit, and sometimes Chitral is as well.
