  The Order of Sisters of Charity of Montreal, formerly called The Order of Sisters of Charity of the Hôpital Général of Montreal and more commonly known as the Grey Nuns of Montreal, is a Canadian order of Roman Catholic religious sisters. The order was founded in 1738 by Saint Marguerite d'Youville, a young widow. •  Fetter Lane Society

  The Fetter Lane Society was the first flowering of the Moravian church in the UK, and an important as a precursor to Methodism. A short time before the great Methodist revival of the 18th Century in England, Moravians were avidly ministering throughout London. Peter Böhler, the London Moravian leader, and his followers established the Fetter Lane Society in May 1738 for the purpose of discipleship and accountability. They began with the purpose of meeting once a week for prayer and fellowship.

•  Fort La Reine

  Fort La Reine was built in 1738, one of the forts of the western expansion directed by Pierre Gaultier de Varennes et de la Vérendrye, first military commander in the west. Located on the Assiniboine River where present day Portage La Prairie stands, the fort served as a fur trading post. It was also the base of operations for much exploration north and west. From Fort La Reine, explorers made their way to Lake Manitoba and Lake Winnipegosis, Lake Winnipeg and the Saskatchewan River.

  Boswells of Oxford is the largest independent department store in Oxford, England. It has been trading since 1738, initially located at 50 Cornmarket Street. In 1928, it expanded its premises with the main entrance moving to Broad Street, opposite Balliol College and close to the spot (marked with a cross in the middle of the road) where the Oxford Martyrs were burnt at the stake. •  Madras Crocodile Bank Trust

  The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust (MCBT) is a reptile zoo and herpetology research station, located 40 km south of the city of Chennai, in state of Tamil Nadu, India. It was established with the aim of saving three Indian endangered species of crocodile - the marsh or mugger crocodile, the saltwater crocodile, and the gharial, which at the time were all nearing extinction. The center covers 8.5 beautifully landscaped acres and had over 450,000 visitors in 2007.
