•  Orava (reservoir)

  Orava is a reservoir in northernmost Slovakia, which is the largest lake in Slovakia (35.2 km²). It has been constructed between 1941 and 1953 as a dam built on the former two sources of the Orava river. Several former villages had to be inundated for this purpose. Probably the best known of them was Slanica, the birthplace of the Slovak intellectual and cleric Anton Bernolák (Antonius Bernolacius). Today, the reservoir is protected by the Horná Orava Protected Landscape Area.

•  Liptovská Mara

  Liptovská Mara is a reservoir in northern Slovakia, on the Váh river near Liptovský Mikuláš, in the Liptov region. The dam is named after one of the inundated villages. It was built in 1965-1975. The area of the reservoir is 22 km², max. depth is 45 m and the capacity is 360 mil. m³. During construction, nine were inundated and a major railway and road relocated. The main purpose of this dam is to prevent floods, although it also generates electricity.

•  Tajchy

  Tajchy are artificial water reservoirs in the Štiavnica Mountains, in central Slovakia. Most of them were built in order to provide energy for the silver mines of Banská Štiavnica in the 18th century. At their height, tajchy comprised a sophisticated system of 60 reservoirs, connected to each other by more than 100 km of channels and underground tunnels. 24 artificial lakes still exist and serve recreational purposes.

•  Zemplínska šírava

  Zemplínska šírava (sometimes called the "Slovak sea") is a dam and lake in eastern Slovakia, near the town of Michalovce, wholly belonging to the Michalovce District. The name recalls the historical Zemplín region. The dam was built in 1961-1965, covers an area of 33 km², has an average depth of 9.5 metres, with a maximum of 14 m.   Male-limited precocious puberty (also known as familial sexual precocity and gonadotropin-independent testotoxicosis) is a form of gonadotropin-independent precocious puberty in which boys experience early onset and progression of puberty. Signs of puberty can develop as early as an age of 1 year. The spinal length in boys may be short due to a rapid advance in epiphyseal maturation.   The Stephens-Townsend-Murphy Party consisted of ten families who migrated from Iowa to California prior to the Mexican-American War or the California Gold Rush. The Stephens Party is significant in California history because they pioneered the first route for wagons across the Sierra Nevada at or near Donner Pass in 1844, two years before the Donner Party and five years before the 1849 Gold Rush.

•  Waller Apartments

  The Edward C. Waller Apartments are located from 2840 to 2858 W. Walnut Street in Chicago, Illinois. They were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built in 1895. Some of the oldest buildings to be used for subsidized housing in Chicago, they received Chicago Landmark status on March 2, 1994.
