  Dr John Frederick Joseph Cade AO (18 January 1912 - 16 November 1980) was an Australian psychiatrist credited with discovering (in 1948) the effects of lithium carbonate as a mood stabilizer in the treatment of bipolar disorder (then known as manic depression). •  Sailing at the 2008 Summer Olympics – 49er class

  The 49er class sailing competition at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing took place between the 10th and 17th of August in Qingdao, at the Qingdao International Marina. 19 teams of two sailors each competed in this 49er dinghy competition. A total of 16 races were scheduled but 3 were canceled due to the weather. Points were assigned based on the finishing position in each race (1 for first, 2 for second, etc.).
