  Saint Barnabas of the first century, born Joseph, was an Early Christian convert, one of the earliest Christian disciples in Jerusalem. Like almost all Christians at the time, Barnabas was Jewish, specifically a Levite. Named an apostle in Acts 14:14, he and Saint Paul undertook missionary journeys together and defended Gentile converts against the demands of stricter church leaders.

En route to his martyrdom in Rome, Ignatius wrote a series of letters which have been preserved as an example of very early Christian theology.   Novatian (circa 200 – 258) was a scholar and antipope who held the title between 251 and 258. He was a noted theologian and writer, the first Roman theologian who used the Latin language, at a time when there was much debate about how to deal with Christians who had lapsed and wished to return, and the issue of penance. Consecrated as pope by three bishops in 251, he adopted a more rigorous position than the established Pope, Cornelius.

  Zhuge Dan (died 258) was a general of Cao Wei. He helped crush Wuqiu Jian's rebellion against Cao Wei in 255. He later rebelled against the Wei Kingdom for reasons similar to Wuqiu Jian's reasons for rebelling, because he thought that the Simas were planning to usurp the Wei Dynasty. He sent one of his sons as captives to Eastern Wu and received aid from Eastern Wu. However, his rebellion failed and he was killed.

  Sri Vadirajatirtha 1480 - 1600,a Haridasa, is said to have been a Shivalli Tulu Brahmin and native of the village of Hoovinakere, near Kumbhashi in Kundapura taluk, Udupi District in Karnataka state. His parents were Ramacharya and Gauri. He is considered the second highest saint in the Madhva hierarchy, next only to Srimad Ananda Tîrtha, even though his guru was Sri Vyasatirtha.
