  • Lake Zug is a lake in Central Switzerland situated between Lucerne and Zurich. At present it is formed by the Aa, which descends from the Rigi and enters the southern extremity of the lake. The Lorze empties its waters into the lake at its northern extremity, but 1 km further west issues from the lake to pursue its course towards the Reuss.

The main tributary is the Hüribach; the Lorze river drains the Ägerisee. Since 1992 the lake is used as a water reservoir. The Battle of Morgarten took place in 1315 on the shores of the Ägerisee.

  • Nicolò Pacassi (1716–1790), also known as Nikolaus Pacassi, was an Austrian architect of Italian descent. He was born in Wiener Neustadt in Lower Austria in a family of merchants from the Gorizia. In 1753, he was appointed court architect to Maria Theresa of Austria. He was commissioned many workd throughout the Austrian Empire, maily in Vienna, Prague, Buda and his native Gorizia and Gradisca. He died in Vienna.

  • David H. Asson was the match referee at the first FA Cup Final to be staged at Wembley Stadium in 1923.
  • The Equestrian Portrait of Count-Duke de Olivares is a painting by Spanish artist Diego Velázquez, finished in 1634. It is housed in the Museo del Prado, Madrid. The subject of the picture is Gaspar Guzmán, Count-Duke of Olivares, Prime Minister of Spain during the reign of Philip IV. He is portrayed riding a horse, an honour generally reserved for monarchs at the time. He wears a plumed headgear and a gilt cuirass, and holds a command baton.
