  Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto (February 3 1898, Kuortane – May 11 1976, Helsinki) was a Finnish architect and designer, sometimes called the "Father of Modernism" in the nordic countries. His work includes architecture, furniture, textiles and glassware. Aalto's early career runs in parallel with the rapid economic growth and industrialization of Finland during the first half of the twentieth century and many of his clients were industrialists; among these were the Ahlström-Gullichsen family.

•  Lord of Piedmont

  The lordship, later principality of Piedmont was originally an appanage of the Savoyard county and as such its lords were members of the Savoy-Achaea branch of that illustrious house. The title was inherited by the elder branch of the dynasty in 1418, at about which time Savoy was elevated to ducal status and Piedmont to princely status. When the House of Savoy was given the Kingdom of Sardinia, the Savoyard's used the style of Prince of Piedmont for their Heir apparent.

•  F. F. Worthington

  Major-General Frederic Franklin Worthington (1890 – December 8, 1967), nicknamed "Worthy" and "Fighting Frank", is considered the father of the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps. Worthy 's military career began, somewhat unofficially, as a mercenary. He served in the Nicaraguan Army in the war against San Salvador and Honduras, but when the Nicaraguan government fell, the army dissolved and Worthy left the country to avoid capture. •  Skinquarter, Virginia

  About 2 miles west of Rt. 360 and just east of Moseley Road lies the origin of the name for the community called "Skinquarter" It is a spring that never runs dry. The Indians found the water supply a convenient place to dress game. The legend says there was a nearby rock where they would skin and quarter deer. The spring is still easily found and is walled in by stone. The early settlers coined the name Skinquarter and it has remained the same to this day.
