Yannick Jauzion is a French rugby union footballer. He plays at centre for Stade Toulousain and the French national team. Jauzion is a key player behind Toulouse's and France's recent achievements. He is a member of the Toulouse team that reached the Heineken Cup final in 2003, 2004 and 2005. He was named as the man of the match in the 2005 Heineken Cup Final as Toulouse defeated Stade Français. He earned his first national cap on 16 June 2001 against South Africa. More information...

  • The Africa Cup of Nations, also referred to as the African Nations Cup (ANC) is the main international association football competition in Africa. It is sanctioned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and was first held in 1957. Since 1968, it has been held every two years. The title holders at the time of a FIFA Confederations Cup qualify for that competition. In 1957 there were only three participating nations: Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia.

  • The Battle of Ostrovo occurred in 1041 near Ostrovo, an area close to the lake of the same name in modern northern Greece. In 1040 Peter Delyan led an uprising against the Byzantines and was proclaimed Emperor of Bulgaria. He quickly occupied the western Balkan lands from Belgrade to Larisa but in the next year he was betrayed by his cousin Alusian, who deserted from the army and blinded him. Though blind, Peter Delyan remained in command and met the Byzantines near Ostrovo.
  • Shaokang was the sixth ruler of the Xia Dynasty of China. He was the son of Xiang (相) and was Succeeded by King Zhu of Xia. His father Xiang was killed in a battle against Han Zhuo's (寒浞) two sons, Han Jiao (寒澆) and Han Yi (寒殪); Shaokang's mother managed to escape and had him after a few months. In 2079 BC Si Shaokang and his followers engaged in a battle against Han Zhuo, defeated and killed him, and restored the Xia Dynasty.
