Captain Abner Howell (August 15, 1744 – 1797) served as a Captain in the Third Company Third Battalion, Washington County, Pennsylvania, Militia during the American Revolutionary War. He was born in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, the son of Hugh and Margaret Howell. Abner married Mary Gregg, daughter of a Quaker family from Kennett, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
