Bridgwater is located on the major communication routes through South West England. Bridgwater had a population of 33,698 according to the 2001 census.   • François Bonivard or Bonnivard (1496 – 1570) was a Swiss patriot and historian whose life was the inspiration for Byron's 1816 poem The Prisoner Of Chillon. He was the son of Louis Bonnivard, Seigneur de Lunes, and was born at Seyssel into an old family of Savoy.
