  • Bandini is a 1963 Hindi film directed and produced by Bimal Roy, the man who directed such classic as Do Bigha Zameen and Devdas. Bandini stars Nutan giving one of her career's finest performances, along with Ashok Kumar and Dharmendra as leads, and explores the human conflicts of love and hate intertwined in the mind of Kalyani. The movie tells the story of Kalyani, the all suffering, selfless, sacrificing, and strong yet weak Indian woman.

  • Bimal Roy (12 July 1909–7 January 1966) was one of the most acclaimed Hindi film directors of all time. He is particularly noted for his realistic and socialistic films like Do Bigha Zamin, Parineeta, Biraj Bahu, Madhumati, Sujata, and Bandini, making him an important director of Hindi cinema. He has won a number of awards throughout his career, including eleven Filmfare Awards, a National Film Award, and the International Prize of the Cannes Film Festival.

  • Parineeta is a 1953 film based upon the 1914 novel by Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay. The film was directed by Bimal Roy. This version of the film is considered by many to be the most faithful adaptation of the novella, particularly due to Meena Kumari's interpretation of the role of Lalita.

  • Madhumati is a 1958 Indian Hindi film directed by Bimal Roy and written by Ritwik Ghatak. Music by Salil Choudhury, lyrics by Shailendra. The movie stars Dilip Kumar, Vyjayantimala, Pran and Johnny Walker. It was one of the earliest films to deal with reincarnation and had a gothic noir feel to it. The first and only collaboration between Roy and Ghatak, it was one of their most commercially successesful and influential films.

  • Sujata is a 1959 Hindi language Bimal Roy film. The film starred Sunil Dutt and Nutan supported by Lalita Pawar and Shashikala The film explored the situation of caste in India. The music is by S. D. Burman and the lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri. It was entered into the 1960 Cannes Film Festival.

  • Yahudi is a 1958 Bollywood film directed by Bimal Roy. It starred Dilip Kumar, Meena Kumari, Sohrab Modi, Nasir Hussain, Nigar Sultana and others. Film's lyricist, Shailendra won the Filmfare Awards award for best lyricist in 1959, for the song, Yeh Mera Deewanapan sung by Mukesh.
