  • Oracle Reports is a tool for developing reports against data stored in an Oracle database. Oracle Reports consists of Oracle Reports Developer (a component of the Oracle Developer Suite) and Oracle Application Server Reports Services (a component of the Oracle Application Server).
  • Crystal Reports is a business intelligence application used to design and generate reports from a wide range of data sources. Several other applications, such as Microsoft Visual Studio, bundle an OEM version of Crystal Reports as a general purpose reporting tool. ExtenXLS has the ability to utilize data from any source and output it in Excel-compatible XLS, XML, and HTML formats.
  • Oracle XML Publisher (XMLP) is Oracle Corporations new reporting technology. It was originally developed to solve the reporting problems faced by Oracle Applications. It was first released with Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10 in 2003. Since then it has been integrated into J.D. Edwards EnterpriseOne application 8.12 and Peoplesoft Enterprise 9, and as a standalone version, XML Publisher Enterprise with no dependency on Oracle Applications.

The free version was branded Logi Report or Freereporting.

It was originally developed by Data Dynamics, which was then acquired by GrapeCity. ActiveReports is a set of components and tools that facilitates the production of reports to display data in documents and web-based formats. It is written in managed C# and allows Visual Studio. NET programmers to leverage their knowledge of C# or Visual Basic.
