  • Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, informally Poul Nyrup, born 15 June 1943, was Prime Minister of Denmark from 25 January 1993 to 27 November 2001 and is currently President of the Party of European Socialists (PES). He was the leader of the governing Social Democrats from 1992 to 2002. He is not related to the succeeding two Prime Ministers of Denmark, Anders Fogh Rasmussen or Lars Løkke Rasmussen. He was a member of the European Parliament from 2004-09.

  • Margrete Auken (born January 6, 1945) is a politician and member of the Danish socialist party Socialistisk Folkeparti (SF), and the sister of Svend Auken. Auken was educated at the University of Copenhagen, and has been a member of the Danish parliament from October 1979 to December 1990 and from September 1994 to June 2004.
  • Ole Christensen aka. Ole EU is a Danish politician and Member of the European Parliament. He is a member of the Social Democrats, which is part of the Party of European Socialists, and sits on the European Parliament's Committee on Employment and Social Affairs. He is also a substitute for the Committee on Regional Development and a member of the delegation to the EU–Romania Joint Parliamentary Committee.

  • Henrik Dam Kristensen is a Danish politician and a former Member of the European Parliament. He is a member of the Social Democrats, which is part of the Party of European Socialists, and sat on the European Parliament's Committee on Fisheries and its Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection. He was also a substitute for the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and a member of the delegation for relations with the countries of south-east Europe.
  • Britta Thomsen (b. 23 January 1954 in Aalborg) is a Danish politician and Member of the European Parliament. She is a member of the Social Democrats, which is part of the Party of European Socialists, and is vice-chair of the European Parliament's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. She is also a member of the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality, a substitute for the Committee on Development, and vice-chair of the delegation for relations with South Africa.
  • Bertel Geismar Haarder (born 7 September 1944) is a Danish politician and currently the Interior and Health Minister in the Cabinet of Lars Løkke Rasmussen. He represents Venstre, the Danish liberal party. From November 2001 to February 2005 he was Minister for Refugees, Immigrants and Integration in the Cabinet of Anders Fogh Rasmussen I, and enacted a policy of tough measures designed to limit the number of immigrants coming to Denmark.

  • Helle Thorning-Schmidt (born 14 December 1966) is a Danish politician. She was elected leader of the Danish Social Democrats by the party members on April 12, 2005, ahead of the other candidate, Frank Jensen. She replaced Mogens Lykketoft, who had resigned when he lost the 2005 Danish parliamentary election to the sitting government coalition of Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

  • Niels Busk (born on 2 August 1942 in Vadum) is a Danish politician and Member of the European Parliament with the Venstre, part of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe and sits on the European Parliament's Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development and its Committee on Fisheries. He is a substitute for the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and a member of the Delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly.
  • Jens-Peter Rossen Bonde (born on 27 March 1948 in Aabenraa) is a former Member of the European Parliament with the June Movement. He resigned as an MEP in May 2008. Bonde was elected to the European Parliament in the first election in 1979 with the People's Movement against the EU. He has been re-elected 6 times consecutively. In 1992 he co-founded the June Movement which he chaired until his retirement May 2008. Bonde is still a member of the June Movement.
  • Ole Krarup (born 17 March 1935 in Århus) is a Danish EU politician and former professor of law at the University of Copenhagen. From 1994 through 2006 he was Member of the European Parliament with the Folkebevægelsen mod EU (People's Movement against the EU), Member of the Bureau of the European United Left - Nordic Green Left and sat on the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and its Committee on Budgetary Control.
  • Anders Samuelsen (born on 1 August 1967 in Horsens) is a Danish politician, member of the Folketing with the Liberal Alliance and former Member of the European Parliament sitting on the European Parliament's Committee on Budgets. He is a former member of Det Radikale Venstre, and was a Member of the Bureau of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe. He left this party on 7 May 2007, and was elected to the Danish parliament for Liberal Alliance in the 2007 election.

  • Gitte Seeberg (born on 25 June 1960 in Copenhagen) is a Danish politician and member of parliament. She has previously been a Member of the European Parliament. Seeberg is a former member of the Conservative People's Party and a former Member of the Bureau of the European People's Party. She left this party on 7 May 2007 to be a co-founder of the party New Alliance.

  • Mogens Niels Juel Camre (born on 29 March 1936 in Randers) is a Danish politician and Member of the European Parliament with the Danish People's Party, a Vice-Chairman of the Union for a Europe of Nations and sits on the European Parliament's Committee on Budgetary Control and its Committee on Employment and Social Affairs. He is a substitute for the Committee on Constitutional Affairs.
  • Karin Riis-Jørgensen (born on 7 November 1952 in Odense) is a Danish politician and Member of the European Parliament with the Venstre, a Vice-Chairwoman of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe and sits on the European Parliament's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs.
  • Lone Dybkjær (born 23 May 1940 in Copenhagen), is a Danish politician. She graduated from Rungsted Statsskole in 1958 and took a Master of Engineering in chemistry at the Technical University of Denmark in 1964. She is a member of the Radikale Venstre, a Danish party in the middle of the political spectrum.
  • Jens Dyhr Okking, (born 18 December 1939) is a Danish actor and politician. Jens Okking is known from Lars von Triers TV-series The Kingdom, and was a member of the European Parliament 1999 - 2003.

  • Ulla Margrethe Sandbæk (born 1943) is a former Danish Member of the European Parliament for the June Movement. She served from 1994 to 2004. She was responsible for the Sandbæk report that resulted in a European Union regulation increasing funding for the United Nations Population Fund, which controversially included funding abortion.
  • Christel Schaldemose (born 1967) is a member of the European Parliament and member of the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection and the Committee on Culture and Education . She lives in Copenhagen with her husband and 3 children (born 1996 to 2003). She has a master in history from the University of Southern Denmark. She has worked professionally with adult education and popular enlightenment on national and regional level.

  • Niels Johannes Lebech (born 12 September 1948) is a Danish politician and member of the European Parliament and former Minister for Ecclesiastical Affairs for the Danish Social Liberal Party. Lebech was Minister of Ecclesiastical Affairs from 21 December 2000 to 27 November 2001 in the Cabinet of Poul Nyrup Rasmussen IV and party chairman of the Danish Social Liberal Party from 1997 to 2000.
