Lim Kim San; (30 November 1916 - 20 July 2006) was a Singaporean politician. He was credited for leading the successful public housing program in the Southeast Asian City-State during the early 1960s, which eased the acute housing shortage problem at that time.
Suppiah Dhanabalan (born August 8, 1937) was a high-profile political leader in Singapore in the 1980s. He was appointed to several heavyweight cabinet positions in the 1980s and early 1990s under Prime Ministers Lee Kuan Yew and Goh Chok Tong. Hu Tsu Tau, Richard is a former Singaporean politician. He served as Minister of Finance from 1985- 2001 and is affiliated to the People's Action Party. He is currently the Chairman of the Singaporean property development company Capitaland, the largest real estate development company in Southeast Asia (by market capitalization), with its headquarters in Singapore. Hu is married to Irene Tan Dee Leng, and has one son (Jeremy) and one daughter (Geraldine). He is a Hakka Chinese.
Sinnathamby Rajaratnam, better known as "S. Rajaratnam", (25 February 1915 – 22 February 2006), was a Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore from 1980-85, and a long-serving Minister and member of the Cabinet from 1959-88. He is regarded as one of the founding fathers of independent Singapore as it achieved self-government in 1959 and later independence in 1965. He devoted much of his adult life to public service, and helped shape the mentality of Singaporeans on contemporary issues.
Yeo Cheow Tong is a politician from Singapore. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he served in the Cabinet from 1990-2006, and is currently a Member of Parliament for the Hong Kah Group Representation Constituency. Yeo was educated at Anglo-Chinese School, before receiving a Colombo Plan Scholarship in 1967 to study at the University of Western Australia, where he received a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree.
