  • The Arkansas Razorbacks, also known as the Hogs, are the names of college sports teams at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The term Arkansas Razorbacks properly applies to any of the sports teams (men or women) at the university. The Razorbacks take their name from the feral pig of the same name. The University of Arkansas student body voted to change the name of the school mascot (originally the Cardinals) in 1910 to the Arkansas Razorbacks.

  • The Florida State Seminoles are the men's and women's sports teams of Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Florida State participates in the NCAA's Division I (Division I FBS for football). FSU joined the Atlantic Coast Conference in 1992 and competes in the Atlantic Division for sports split into divisional format. The athletic director is Colonel Randy Spetman, who was introduced on February 4, 2008.

  • Houston Cougars is the name given to the sports teams of the University of Houston. Informally, the Houston Cougars have also been referred to as the Coogs, UH, or simply Houston. Houston's nickname was created by early physical education instructor of the university and former head football coach of the Washington State Cougars John R.   • University of Mississippi sports teams, originally known as the "Mississippi Flood", were re-named the Rebels in 1936 and compete in the competitive twelve-member Southeastern Conference of the NCAA's Division I. The school's colors are cardinal red and navy blue (PMS 281), purposely chosen to mirror the school colors of Harvard and Yale, respectively. With a long history in intercollegiate athletics (Ole Miss began football in 1890), the university competes in 18 men's and women's sports.

  • Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has a long-running athletic program. The school's sports teams are called the Owls, originating from the university's early days as a night school. The current athletic director is Bill Bradshaw. The owl has been the symbol and mascot for Temple University since its founding in the 1880s.   • The Boston College Eagles are the athletic teams representing Boston College. They compete in NCAA Division I as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The men's and women's ice hockey teams compete in Hockey East. The women's crew team competes in the Eastern Association of Women's Rowing Colleges (EAWRC). Skiing, fencing, and sailing are also non-ACC.
