May I use LikeOrHate data in my site/service/software?

In short: yes, you may, but read the rest. Any content submitted LikeOrHate.com, unless otherwise specified, is licensed under:

Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial 3.0 License + Creative Commons Plus

Note that LikeOrHate.com displays or intermediates data from many third party sites which have no affiliation to LikeOrHate. Their data is subject to their own licenses, which may differ from the ones presented here.

Non-commercial usage

In other words (but read the license!) you're free to use it for any non-commercial purposes if you attribute any data you use both to the original poster (who is the Original Author) and to LikeOrHate.com (the Licensor). So:

We provide two suggestions of how to attribute data below. Remember to change "USERNAME" to the Original Author's, both in the text and in the link.

Data by USERNAME under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported and provided by: LikeOrHate.com

Data USERNAME under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported and provided by: LikeOrHate.com

More options of #LikeOrHate# logos are available. You are of course free to attribute in any other form, provided it respects the license.

Commercial usage

If you need the content for commercial use (which is defined by CC as "in any manner that is primarily intended for or directed toward commercial advantage or private monetary compensation"), we provide an alternative license. This is useful for e-commerce sites, for example. It's the same as Creative Commons License with the following addenda:

  • You may not use content in sites whose primary purpose is to review, rate or qualify any kind of item, unless you have explicit written consent by LikeOrHate.com.
  • License to usage of data may be subject to monetary compensation to LikeOrHate.com, as stated on http://likeorhate.com/help/commerciallicensing/.

Remember that the Creative Commons license otherwise applies and you must follow it, including attribution.

Questions about licensing may be asked here.
