•  Ludwig Von Drake

  Ludwig von Drake is one of Walt Disney's cartoon and comic book characters. He was first introduced on September 24, 1961, as the presenter (and singer of "The Spectrum Song") in the cartoon An Adventure in Color, part of the first show of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color on NBC. Ludwig is a V.I.P. member of the Mickey Mouse Club. Said to be an uncle of Donald Duck, he was supposedly named after either Ludwig von Mises or Ludwig van Beethoven.

•  Stratego

  Stratego is a board game featuring a 10 × 10 square board and two players with 40 pieces each. Pieces represent individual officers and soldiers in an army. The objective of the game is to either find and capture the opponent's Flag, or capture so many of the opponent's pieces that he/she cannot make any further moves. Players cannot see the ranks of each other's pieces, so disinformation and discovery are important elements of the game.

•  IBM Selectric typewriter

  The IBM Selectric typewriter (occasionally known as the IBM Golfball typewriter) was an influential model line of electric typewriters. It was introduced in 1961. Instead of a "basket" of pivoting typebars the Selectric had a pivoting type element (frequently called a "typeball") that could be changed so as to display different fonts in the same document, resurrecting a capacity that had been pioneered by the moderately successful Blickensderfer typewriter sixty years before.

•  IBM 1710

  The IBM 1710 was a process control system that IBM introduced in March 1961. It used either a 1620 I or a 1620 II Computer and specialized I/O devices. The IBM 1620 used in the 1710 system was modified in several ways, the most obvious was the addition of a very primitive hardware interrupt mechanism. The 1710 was used by many paper mills and oil refineries.

  The IBM 7030, also known as Stretch, was IBM's first transistorized supercomputer. The first one was delivered to Los Alamos in 1961. Originally priced at $13.5 million, its failure to meet its aggressive performance estimates forced the price to be dropped to only $7.78 million and its withdrawal from sales to customers beyond those having already negotiated contracts.

  Ken (also known as Ken Carson) is a Mattel toy doll introduced in 1961 as the fictional boyfriend of toy doll Barbie introduced in 1959. Similar to his female counterpart, Ken had a fashionable line of clothing and accessories. In the Barbie mythos, Ken and Barbie met on the set of a TV commercial in 1961. Since his debut, Ken has held at least forty occupations, from Olympic gold medalist (1974, 1997), to hair stylist (1991, 1992, 1999).

•  IBM 1720

  The IBM 1720 was a pilot project to create a real-time process control computer based on the IBM 1620 Model I. Only three 1720 systems were ever built: one for the Amoco oil refinery in Whiting, Indiana; one for the Socal oil refinery in El Segundo, California; and one for E. I. du Pont in Wilmington, Delaware. All were installed in 1961. The Amoco and Socal systems ran for many years.

  Asama is the name of a train service operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) on the Nagano Shinkansen in Japan. The shinkansen service was introduced in October 1997, but the name was first used for a semi-express service operated by JNR in 1961. 　"Asama" is the name of an active volcano near Karuizawa, on the boundary between Gunma and Nagano Prefecture.

  Häagen-Dazs is a brand of ice cream, established by Polish immigrants Reuben and Rose Mattus in the Bronx, New York, in 1961. Starting with only three flavors: vanilla, chocolate and coffee, the company opened its first retail store in Brooklyn, NY in 1976 and then offered franchises throughout the United States and 54 other countries around the world.   Sprite is a transparent, lemon-lime flavored, caffeine free soft drink, produced by the Coca-Cola Company. It was introduced in the United States in 1961. This was Coke's response to the popularity of 7 Up, which had begun as "Lithiated Lemon" in 1929. It comes in a primarily silver, green, and blue can or a green translucent bottle with a primarily green and blue label. In 1978, Sprite became the market leader position in the lemon soda category. •  Andy Lloyd (cricketer)

  Timothy Andrew Lloyd is a former English cricketer who played in one Test and 3 ODIs in 1984. His only Test was versus West Indies in June, 1984. After making 10 runs, he was hit on the head by West Indies fast bowler Malcolm Marshall. Despite wearing a helmet, Lloyd spent several days in hospital, and played no further cricket in 1984. He never played for England again. He is the only Test Match opening batsman never to have been dismissed.

  Keansburg School District is a school district based in Keansburg, New Jersey. KSD, an Abbott District, serves the borough of Keansburg. As of the 2007-08 school year, the district's four schools had an enrollment of 1,859 students and 171.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.9.   The LUSAC-11 (Le Peré United States Army Combat) was an early American Army fighter aircraft. When the U.S. entered World War I, the Signal Corps had just 55 aircraft, none fit for combat. The American Expeditionary Force was equipped with French types, and the LUSAC was part of a plan to build French designs in the U.S. The creation of a Capitaine Le Peré, it was a two seat biplane of equal span with forward stagger. It was powered by a 425 hp (317 kW) Liberty L-12 engine.
