Its football team currently plays in Segunda División, after being relegated from La Liga in 2006-07. It is more commonly referred to by its nickname, Nàstic. It currently plays in Segunda División B, holding home matches at Camp d´Esports, with a 13,500-seat capacity. Originally formed as Lérida Balompié-AEM in 1939, it became Unión Deportiva Lérida in 1947, after a merger with CD Leridano. Lleida adopted the Catalan version of its name in 1978. Reserve teams in the Spanish football league system play in the same football pyramid as their senior team rather than a separate league. However reserve teams cannot play in the same division as their senior team. Therefore the team is ineligible for promotion to the Primera Division. The club is best known for its football team who in 1928, along with city neighbours FC Barcelona and RCD Espanyol, were founder members of La Liga. They enjoyed a golden age during the 1910s and were Catalan champions three times during the decade. They were also Copa del Rey runners-up in 1914. By 1923 the club had changed its name to Gràcia FC and in 1932 it merged with CE Europa.   Theodore C. Link, FAIA, (March 17, 1850 - November 12, 1923) was a German-American architect. Born in Germany, Link trained in engineering at the University of Heidelberg and, later, at the Ecole Centrale in Paris before emigrating to the United States.
