  Iconoclasm is the deliberate destruction within a culture of the culture's own religious icons and other symbols or monuments, usually for religious or political motives. It is a frequent component of major domestic political or religious changes. •  Fourth Crusade

  The Fourth Crusade (1202–1204) was originally intended to conquer Muslim-controlled Jerusalem by means of an invasion through Egypt. Instead, in April 1204, the Crusaders of Western Europe invaded and conquered the Christian city of Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire. This is seen as one of the final acts in the Great Schism between the Eastern Orthodox Church and Roman Catholic Church.

  Nicomedia was founded in 712/11 BC as a Megarian colony and, in early Antiquity, was called Astacus (lobster). After being destroyed by Lysimachus, it was rebuilt by Nicomedes I of Bithynia in 264 BC under the name of Nicomedia, and has ever since been one of the most important cities in northwestern Asia Minor. Hannibal came to Nicomedia in his final years and committed suicide in nearby Libyssa. The historian Arrian was born there.

  Boniface of Montferrat, (c. 1150 – 1207) was Marquess of Montferrat and the leader of the Fourth Crusade. He was the third son of William V of Montferrat and Judith of Babenberg, born after his father's return from the Second Crusade. He was a younger brother of William 'Longsword', Count of Jaffa and Ascalon, and of Conrad I of Jerusalem.

  William Blake (28 November 1757–12 August 1827) was an English poet, painter, and printmaker. Largely unrecognised during his lifetime, Blake is now considered a seminal figure in the history of both the poetry and visual arts of the Romantic Age. •  Chris Aldridge

  Chris Aldridge is a continuity announcer and newsreader for BBC Radio 4. At Bedford College in Bloomsbury, London, he studied maths. He joined the BBC in 1985 and worked in the production and archiving departments of Radio 3, and became a newsreader at Radio 5, before becoming a Radio 4 staff announcer in 1995. During 2002, he spent a year away working in training new staff, before returning to the station as a senior announcer alongside Harriet Cass, taking over from Peter Donaldson.

  Frederick Henry Norman (1839-1916) was an English merchant banker and a director of the merchant bank Brown, Shipley & Co.. The Norman family have a long history in English banking. He was the fourth son of George Warde Norman (1793-1882), a director of the Bank of England from 1821 to 1872. He married Lina Susan Penelope Collet (d. 1950), a daughter of Sir Mark Wilks Collet, 1st Baronet, of St. Clere, Ightham, Sevenoaks, on 15 November 1870.
