  • The Caliph is the head of state in a Caliphate, and the title for the leader of the Islamic Ummah, an Islamic community ruled by the Shari'ah. It is a transcribed version of the Arabic word خليفة Khalīfah which means "successor" or "representative".   • The mutawaeen (also transliterated as mutawwaeen) are the members of Saudi Arabia's Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, a religious police force whose purpose is to ensure strict adherence to established codes of conduct based on Saudi Arabia's conservative form of Islam, Wahhabism, especially among the youth. They are known for wearing henna-dyed beards and loose-fitting red headscarves and are armed with thin wooden canes.
  • The Mabahith is the secret police agency of the Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia. According to Human Rights Watch, the Mabahith "monitors suspected political opponents and others, targets individuals for arrest, and interrogates detainees.   • The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (NSCSA) was established in 1979 and is one of the largest providers of maritime services in the Middle East. The company and its subsidiaries purchase, charter and operate vessels for the transportation of crude oil, chemicals and general cargo. For this purpose NSCSA owns and operates a fleet of double hull very large crude carriers (VLCCs), chemical carriers and multipurpose Ro-Ro vessels.
  • Saudi Ports Authority is a government agency that supervises the ports of Saudi Arabia. It was founded in 1976 as an independent agency of the Prime Minister's office, to bring together the governance and operations of the multiple ports of the country to one office.   • Mukut Mithi (born 1954) is the former Chief Minister of the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. He served as an MLA consecutively from 1983 until his appointment as Lieutenant Governor of Pondicherry in 2006. He was Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh from January 19, 1999 until August 3, 2003. For much of his political career he was a member of the Indian National Congress and then the Arunachal Congress; he later broke from the Arunachal Congress in 1998 to form the Arunachal Congress-Mithi.
  • Mariotte’s bottle is a device that delivers a constant rate of flow from closed bottles or tanks. It is named after French physicist Edme Mariotte (1620-1684). A picture of a bottle with a gas inlet is shown in the works of Mariotte, but this construction was made to show the effect of outside pressure on mercury level inside the bottle. It further misses a siphon or an outlet for the liquid.
