Overview

Summary

More information...

  • Harlequinade is a type of theatrical performance piece, originally a slapstick adaptation of the Commedia dell'arte, which dates back to Italy in the 16th century. The story revolves around the lives of its five main characters: Harlequin, Pierrot, Columbine, Clown, and Pantaloon. The original production was staged by Marius Petipa on December 18, 1892, premiering on a double-bill with a now semi-forgotten Tchaikovsky opera, Iolanta.

  • A composite number is a positive integer which has a positive divisor other than one or itself. In other words, if n > 0 is an integer and there are integers 1 < a, b < n such that n = a × b then n is composite. By definition, every integer greater than one is either a prime number or a composite number. The number one is a unit - it is neither prime nor composite. For example, the integer 14 is a composite number because it can be factored as 2 × 7.

  • An ice scraper is a handheld tool for removing frost, ice, and snow from windows, usually on automobiles. Basic scrapers have a plastic blade and handle, though some have blades made out of metal. More complex models often include brushes to help remove collected snow, or squeegees to remove water if the ambient temperature is near the melting point. Alternatively, the handle can be inside a glove-like enclosure to help keep the user's hands warm and dry while using the scraper.
