  • Yellowknife is the capital of the Northwest Territories (NWT), Canada. It is located on the north shore of Great Slave Lake, approximately 400 km (250 mi) south of the Arctic Circle, on the west side of Yellowknife Bay near the outlet of the Yellowknife River. Yellowknife and its surrounding water bodies were named after the local Yellowknives Dene First Nation, who made tools from regional copper deposits. The current population is ethnically mixed.

  • Holon is a city in Israel, on the central coastal strip south of Tel Aviv. Holon is part of the metropolitan area known as Gush Dan in the Tel Aviv District. In 2007, it had a population of 168,800. Holon has the second largest industrial zone in Israel after Haifa.

  • Novodvinsk is a town in Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia, located on the left bank of the Northern Dvina River, 20 kilometers (12 mi) south of Arkhangelsk. It was founded in 1936 as the settlement of Voroshilovsky (Вороши́ловский) serving a pulp and paper mill. It became an urban-type settlement in 1941, was renamed Pervomaysky in 1958 and became a town in 1977, when it took its present name. Population: 43,383; 50,183.

  • Susuman is a town in Magadan Oblast, Russia, located on the Berelyokh River some 650 km northwest of Magadan. It is the administrative center of Susumansky District, as well as the only town in the entire oblast excepting the capital Magadan. Population: 7,200 (2005 est. ); 7,833; 16,818.

  • Sdot Yam is a kibbutz in the Haifa District of Israel on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. It was founded in 1936 and moved to its present site at the southern border of the ancient city and archeological ruins of Caesarea, in 1940. The kibbutz falls under the jurisdiction of the Hof HaCarmel Regional Council, and had a population of 682 in 2006.
  • Rishpon is a moshav in the Center District of Israel. Located in the Sharon plain near Herzliya, it falls under the jurisdiction of Hof HaSharon Regional Council. In 2007 it had a population of 1,000. The moshav was established in 1936, and was named after the ancient city in the area.
  • Kfar HaMaccabi is a kibbutz in northern Israel. Located near Kiryat Ata, it falls under the jurisdiction of Zevulun Regional Council. In 2006 it had a population of 289. The village was founded in 1936 by members of the HaMaccabi HaTzair youth movement from Czechoslovakia and Germany who had immigrated with the help of Menahem Ussishkin for the first Maccabiah Games in 1932, and was named after the youth group.
  • Kfar HaNoar HaDati is a youth village in northern Israel. Located near Kfar Hasidim, it falls under the jurisdiction of Zevulun Regional Council. In 2006 it had a population of 576. The college was founded in 1936 and today teaches around 350 students from seventh to twelfth grade, most of whom are new immigrants from Ethiopia who arrive at the school with the help of Youth Aliyah.
  • Agnew is a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia. It is located 982 km north-east of Perth and the closest populated town is Leinster. The town is named after a miner, John A. Agnew, who worked for a local mining firm, Bewick, Moreing & Co. The townsite was declared in 1936. An operating gold mine is located adjacent to the townsite and is also named Agnew. The mine is owned by Gold Fields Ltd.
  • Lake King is a town located in the Eastern Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, 464 kilometres (288 mi) from Perth along State Route 107 between Wagin and Ravensthorpe. Lake King is named after a nearby lake which in turn was named after the Surveyor General of Western Australia, Henry Sanford King, by Marshall Fox, the surveyor from Narrogin. Settlers began arriving in the area in 1928 shortly after the area was surveyed and land was released.
  • East Layton is a former city in Davis County, Utah, United States. Adjacent to Layton, it was incorporated in 1936 in order to secure funding for a community water system. East Layton remained a small, steadily growing residential town for decades, becoming a city in 1972. Rapid expansion during the 1970s led to a merger in 1981 with Layton, now Davis County's most populous city and one of the largest in Utah.
