  • Federica Pellegrini (born 5 August 1988) is an Italian swimmer. A native of Mirano, in the province of Venice, she is currently the women's 200 m freestyle (long course and short course) and 400 m (long course) freestyle world record holder. At the 2009 World Championships in Rome, Pellegrini became the first woman ever to breach the 4 minute barrier in 400 m freestyle with the time 3:59.15.

  • Michele Frangilli (born 1 May 1976) is an archer from Italy. He was born in Gallarate. He has competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in men's individual archery, ending at the 6th place and getting the Bronze Medal for teams. He has also competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in men's individual archery, ending at the 10th place and getting the Silver Medal for teams. In 2003 he has won in New York the World Target Archery Championships for Recurve (Olympic) Division.
  • Ilario Di Buò (born 13 December 1965 in Trieste) is an archer from Italy. Di Buò won a silver medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in the team archery competition. He placed 20th in the individual competition.

He is one of the most successful athletes in the history of this sport, with ten World championship medals (of which nine gold) and 6 Olympic medals, but is known also for an act of sportsmanship during the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria that made him the first athlete ever to receive the Pierre de Coubertin medal.

Tomba won three Olympic gold medals, two World Championships, and nine World Cup season titles; four in slalom, four in giant slalom, and one overall title. He was popularly called Tomba la Bomba ("Tomba the Bomb").

  • Agostino Straulino (October 10, 1914 – December 14, 2004) was an Italian sailor and sailboat racer, who won one Olympic gold medal and one silver medal in the Star class, and eight consecutive European championships and two world championships in this class and was world champion in the 5.5m-class . Straulino was born in Mali Lošinj on the island of Lošinj, Croatia (at that time in the Austrian part of Austria-Hungary).

He was considered the best player of his country for decades and for several years, also the best in all of the history of Europe. He is 2.06 m (6 ft 9 in) tall. Meneghin was born in Alano di Piave, Veneto. On November 20, 1966, when he was 16 years old, he played his first match in the Italian A League with the Ignis Varese club. He played the last match of his career at the age of 45.

  • Edoardo Mangiarotti (born April 7, 1919) is an Italian fencer. He has won more Olympic titles and World championships than any other fencer in the history of the sport. His name is coupled with 21 titles including six Olympic individual and team gold, five silver and two bronze medals from 1936 to 1960.
  • Luca Agamennoni (born August 8, 1980 in Livorno) is an Italian silver medal and bronze medal winner for rowing in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
  • Francesco Damiani (born October 4, 1958 in Bagnacavallo) was an Italian boxer who won the silver medal at the 1982 World Championships and at the 1984 Summer Olympics. As a professional, he was the first WBO heavyweight champion.
  • Fiona May Iapichino was an athlete who competed for the United Kingdom and later Italy in the long jump. She won the World Championships twice and two Olympic silver medals. Her personal best jump was 7.11 metres, which was her silver medal result at the 1998 European Championships. She also competed briefly in triple jump, and her career best of 14.65 metres from 1998 was good enough to place fifth in the world that season.

  • Roberto Brunamonti (born April 14, 1959 in Spoleto) is a retired Italian basketball player, who won the silver medal with his national team at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, four national championships (1984, 1993, 1994, 1995), one Italian Cup in 1984 and one Italian Supercup in 1995. He is 191 cm (6'3") tall and played as a point guard. He started his career in Rieti in 1975 and after seven years joined the Virtus Sinudyne Bologna in 1982.

He also won a Euroleague championship in 1983 with Virtus Roma. He ended his career in 1991 at Filodoro Napoli.
